A flash of red hair and a whirlwind of activity at all times, Sarah Roberton is a woman on a mission. As a person who has always loved sport and is an aspiring world-class squash player, it seemed natural to combine her passion for fitness with her knowledge of motherhood. A mother of four herself, her classes create a bonding experience between the Mums and encourage them not only to get fit, but also to socialise and share their experiences with one another. “I really believe in bringing Mums together and sharing experiences”, says Sarah.
Sarah, who describes herself as “not a business person”, has put the classes together over the last 3 years using a relaxed position. Her sessions have been so successful that she had over 100 Mums and 13 classes by the end of last Summer. Going through several transitions from working with the Buggy Fit franchise to starting her own group called Well Fit Mums and Families, Sarah also runs free Be Active classes for Birmingham City Council which are branded as Green Fit Baby.
One thing is for sure, Birmingham Mums are getting out and getting fit with Sarah Roberton. “ I don’t believe that Sport is only for men. I feel strong and capable and want other women to know they are too.” Join Sarah or one of her team for classes all over the city and don’t forget to stay for a cuppa and a chat afterward!
