Inertia, Newton and re-igniting physical activity

06 January 2017-
We all know that we should be getting at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity such as cycling or fast walking every week to meet the NHS recommended targets for a healthier life but sometimes you need a little extra motivation! In partnership with BetterPoints and Sport Birmingham, Birmingham South Central CCG is offering a fantastic range of gifts for the Freedom project, who deliver programmes to female survivors of domestic abuse. You can earn much needed equipment and rewards for the Freedom Project just by getting more active in 2017!
How can we do it?
If everyone from Birmingham South Central CCG who is currently signed up for the Workplace Challenge did one activity a day for 6 days a week, we'd reach the target of the Family fun day. There are lots of gifts to earn along the way and we'll show you how you are doing each week on the programme page on the BetterPoints website.
Don't forget you can also earn BetterPoints if you download the free BetterPoints app and track your activities. As a added incentive just for you, to say thank you for making the pilot programme a success, BetterPoints is offering a prize draw for 50,000 BetterPoints (worth £50) at the end of March which you can spend on high street vouchers for you or donate to a charity of your choice. Everyone who uses the BetterPoints app to track 3 activities (Walking, running or cycling at least half a mile) a week for the first three months of the programme will be entered into this draw. You can earn one prize draw ticket every week when you do 3 activities or more.
So, for a healthier happier you and to give the gift of Freedom, sign up for BetterPoints, link your workplace challenge account and get moving. You can find step by step instructions here.
