Brian - Thames Valley Park Winner
We recently ran a fun, lunchtime ride from Thames Valley Park (Oracle to Oracle) as part of a spring Bike Event. Staff tried a variety of bikes including ReadyBikes and Brompton's, and all were amazed at how quick, easy and enjoyable it was to get into the centre of Reading.
The lucky prize winner Brian says... 'I was fortunate enough to take part in a led bike ride from Thames Valley Park to the Oracle Riverside shopping centre. We took a leisurely ride along the towpath right into the centre of Reading. It was so easy and quick, no hanging around in traffic jams along the London Road! Cycling along the waterway was picturesque and provided a stress free route into town, this will definitely be my preferred option for getting into Reading now.'
Erika D - ReadyBike Winner
ReadyBike is the 24-hour, on-street bike share scheme providing 200 bikes across a network of 29 docking stations across Reading. In April we launched a monthly prize draw to win £100 Oracle Vouchers for every ReadyBike journey you take.
Download the BetterPoints App and register for ReadyBike (if you haven't already).
Go to a docking station, scan the BetterPoints QR code and take out a ReadyBike!
This is what Erika said about being the first ReadyBike winner ... 'I use Readybike to commute from Reading station to the University of Reading, where I work. Hopping on a ReadyBike when I arrive in Reading is quicker, healthier, cheaper and more enjoyable than taking the bus! I commute in from Oxford, and it is so convenient to not have to take my bike on the train. The fact that both University campuses in Reading have their own ReadyBike docks also makes it really easy to quickly travel between campuses for meetings, which saves me a lot of time. Using BetterPoints has made me more aware of how much exercise I do every week, and it encourages me to do more.'
